About Philip Z. Kimball PLLC

 

Over the past six years, Philip Z. Kimball has practiced law at Fried Frank Harris Shriver and Jacobson LLP and for the City of New York, including at the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Mayor’s Office.  At Fried Frank, Mr. Kimball worked as a litigator on large commercial, real estate and securities litigations and provided pro bono legal assistance to artists through Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.

Mr. Kimball also served as staff counsel at the City of New York’s Department of Consumer Affairs, where he conducted investigations of both Department-licensed and unlicensed businesses suspected of engaging in conduct that violated the City’s licensing and consumer protection laws and rules and prosecuted businesses for such violations.  In addition, Mr. Kimball negotiated and enforced settlements with these businesses to ensure compliance with those licensing and consumer protection laws.

Mr. Kimball is a graduate of Yale College with a major in film studies and received his J.D. at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.  While at Cardozo, Mr. Kimball served as Acquisitions Editor at the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution and received a certificate in Dispute Resolution.  Mr. Kimball clerked for the Hon. Donald G. Collester Jr. of the Appellate Division of New Jersey.

Born and raised in New York City, coming from an arts background, with a strong understanding of new technologies, Mr. Kimball understands who his clients are and what they do.
